ABOUT
Youssef Chouhoud is an Assistant Professor of Political Science at Christopher Newport University, where he is affiliated with the Reiff Center for Human Rights and Conflict Resolution. His research elaborates the determinants of support for core democratic norms by examining understudied groups and contexts. Youssef’s work has been published in the journal Politics and Religion, the Oxford Handbook of Polling and Survey Methods, and most recently, Understanding Muslim Political Life in America: Contested Citizenship in the Twenty-First Century. He is the author of two studies on religious doubt in the American Muslim community, commissioned by the Yaqeen Institute for Islamic Research, and is co-author (with Dalia Mogahed) of the 2017 and 2018 American Muslim Polls from the Institute for Social Policy and Understanding (ISPU). Prior to joining CNU, Dr. Chouhoud was a Provost’s Fellow at the University of Southern California, where he received his Ph.D.
