ABOUT
As a scholar of gender, sexuality, religion, and culture, my research explores modern gender ideologies in the Middle East, specifically in Iran. Contributing to literatures on gender and sexuality in the Middle East, Islamic cultures, and cultural globalization, affect and emotions, my work investigates how these ideologies and the processes that mold them are shaped by local, national, and global forces. I am currently a lecturer at UCLA.
