ABOUT
Noga Efrati is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of History, Philosophy, and Judaic Studies at the Open University of Israel. A historian of the Middle East, her research focuses on women and gender and on the social, legal, and political history of Iraq. Between 2006 and 2011 she headed the Post-Saddam Iraq Research Group at the Harry S. Truman Research Institute for the Advancement of Peace at The Hebrew University of Jerusalem. She is author of Women in Iraq: Past Meets Present (Columbia University Press, 2012), and of many articles concerning women's rights activism in Iraq. She is also the co-editor, with Amnon Cohen, of Post-Saddam Iraq: New Realities, Old Identities, Changing Patterns and, with Ruth Roded, of Women and Gender in the Middle East in the Twentieth Century.
