Jere L. Bacharach, Professor Emeritus, Department of History, University of Washington taught in Seattle from 1967 through 2007. He served as President, MESA; President, MEM (twice); Treasurer, ARCE; Treasurer, Iranian Studies; Editor, MESA Bulletin (14 years); and 2004 MESA Service Award winner among other positions. His publications focus on Islamic numismatics and monetary developments and Islamic art and archaeology.
