ABOUT
Deren Ertas is a PhD Candidate in History and Middle Eastern Studies at Harvard University. Deren was born in Istanbul and raised in Long Island, NY after 2005. Prior to starting her PhD, she worked as a history teacher at Saint Ann's School in Brooklyn, NY (2016-18). She received her MA from the New School for Social Research (2019) and her BA from Wesleyan University (2016). She was a finalist for the QuestBridge National Match program in 2012.
