Tylor Brand is an Assistant Professor in the Near and Middle Eastern Studies Department at Trinity College in Dublin. His research focuses on the history of disaster in Lebanon and Greater Syria and how individuals adapted to changes in their daily lives during periods of crisis.
He has published a number of articles on the experience and effects of the famine of World War I in Syria and Lebanon in conference proceedings and contributed six entries to 1914-1918 Online, the online encyclopedia of World War I. He is currently developing a website called "Historical Dregs," which explores history through odd primary sources.
