ABOUT
I am an ACLS postdoctoral fellow at the Committee to Protect Journalists in New York, where I research trends in threats to journalists and press freedom around the world from historical, discursive, and legal frameworks. I recently published the book version of my dissertation that compares Saudi foreign policy and political repression post-2011 with the Nasserist period. My research interests include authoritarianism, nationalism, contentious politics, and foreign policy. While my regional focus is primarily on the MENA, I am currently working on a project on political violence in the US.
