ABOUT
Irene Tuzi is a PhD Candidate in Social Sciences at Sapienza University of Rome, and Humboldt University of Berlin. She is affiliated with the Institute of Migration Studies at the Lebanese American University in Beirut. Her research looks at the impact of forced displacement on gender roles and gender relations among Syrian families in Germany and Lebanon. She has previously conducted research at the Lebanese American University, the Institute for Palestine Studies, and the Institute of Mediterranean Europe History at the Italian National Research Council. Her main research interests lie in the area of migration and forced migration studies, intersectional gender studies and transnational migration studies, with particular emphasis on Middle East and Europe. Irene works mostly with qualitative methodology. She is currently based between Berlin and Beirut.
