ABOUT
Sarah El Richani is a PhD candidate at the University of Erfurt researching the Lebanese media system from a comparative perspective courtesy of the German DAAD Scholarship Programme and under the supervision of Professor Kai Hafez, University of Erfurt, and Professor Jean Seaton, University of Westminster. She holds an MA in Journalism from the University of Westminster, courtesy of a Quintin Hogg Scholarship, and a BA in English Literature and Philosophy from the American University of Beirut. She worked for two years as Middle East and North Africa Programme Office for the London-based ARTICLE 19 where she oversaw projects and conducted research in Yemen, Sudan amongst othres. She continues to carry out consultancies for a number of media development and free expression organisations including International Freedom of Expression Exchange (IFEX). Sarah is on Twitter (@srichani), ‘tweeting’ on Lebanese and Middle East issues.
