ABOUT
Amer is an entrepreneur, academic researcher, and international executive specializing in brands & IPs monetization, media & sports entertainment, content, and global strategy in the Middle East region. Amer has more than 25 years of professional experience in international development, crafting and executing monetization strategies, managing media firms, cross-cultural management, licensing franchising, and project management. Amer is an academic researcher, his research interests include aesthetic leadership, visual representations, cross-cultural management, discourse analysis, social and cultural aspects of leadership in the Arab region. Amer is the author of the 2020 academic book, Bedouin Visual Leadership in the Middle East: The Power of Aesthetics and Practical Implications, a study that focuses on leadership as a visual discourse and explores the construction of this discourse within the context of Bedouin Arabia, and the Middle East more broadly. It is part of the book series Palgrave Studies in Business, Arts and Humanities. Amer is a cross-cultural consultant, coach, and trainer at Hofstede Insights helping global and local organizations in building a solid foundation, extensive practical knowledge, and opportunities for continuous team development. Amer also led and grew World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) consumer products business in the Middle East and Turkey from 2015 to early 2021. Amer was a senior strategy consultant for Sharjah Media City (SHAMS), he had a key role in establishing and developing the media cluster of the Sharjah government; he was also the licensing director for Animation International, a leading Japanese licensing agency, Amer expanded their business to the Middle East, Turkey, and Pakistan. Before Amer was the managing director of Spacetoon International, a leading children's media provider in the Middle East and Asia, expanded their business to Asia and Eastern Europe. Amer was born in Damascus, Syria. His education includes a BS in Economics from Damascus University, graduate studies in International Business from McGill University, an Executive MBA from Uninversité du Québec à Montréal in Canada, and a doctorate in Business Administration from Bradford University in the UK.
