ABOUT
Maryah is a PhD student and Arabic instructor at the University of Arizona. She learned Arabic as a Peace Corps volunteer in Jordan, and has over 14 years’ experience teaching adults and children, including in academia and private language schools in Jordan, Indiana, Cairo and New York. Maryah has a Certificate of English Language Teaching for Adults and an MA in Near Eastern Languages and Culture. She has written about the Middle East for publications including BLYNKT, Silk Road Review, Newfound, The Matador Review, and Michigan Quarterly Review. Maryah is committed to making Arabic inclusive, intuitive and fun, and is constantly creating more online and supplemental resources to stretch her students’ skills and build their confidence.
