ABOUT
Dr. Sahar (Zahra) Maranlou is a postdoctoral research officer in Middle East Studies, at the School of Interdisciplinary Area Studies, University of Oxford and has written extensively in the fields of Iranian studies, access to justice, human rights, Islamic Law gender and empowerment. She has consulted for a range of national and international organizations, including UNICEF and UNDP, and has provided Iranian organizations with her expert legal opinion in the areas of legal empowerment. She was a member of the steering committee for the Global Alliance of Justice Education (2008-2013) and has taught Islamic law and international human rights at the University Warwick and the University of Brunel in the UK. Her latest book is ” Access to Justice in Iran: Women, Perceptions and Reality” by the Cambridge University Press.
