ABOUT
Felisa Hervey (pen name Farzana Marie) is a poet and PhD candidate, studying Persian literature and creative writing at the University of Arizona. She served six years on active duty in the U.S. Air Force officer, and has spent three years in Afghanistan in both military and civilian capacities. She is the author of a book of poetry in translation from the Persian Dari, Load Poems Like Guns: Women’s Poetry from Herat, Afghanistan (2014) and the nonfiction book, Hearts for Sale! A Buyer's Guide to Winning in Afghanistan (2013). She is the president of Civil Vision International, a nonprofit charitable organization focused on positively influencing international relationships through connecting, informing, and inspiring citizens.
