ABOUT
I am an historical geographer, & I focus on questions of society-state relations (esp. approaches to & modes of governance) in terms of: (1) identity; (2) environment; & (3) public health.
Regionally, I am interested broadly in the wider Middle East & post-Soviet Eurasia, though my specific research focus entails a concentration on historical geographies of Ottoman & republican Turkey.
