ABOUT
Dr. Carol J. Riphenburg is Professor (Retired) of Political Science at the College of DuPage. She has authored a book: Oman: Political Development in a Changing World and numerous articles in refereed journals and edited books on the role and status of women in Afghanistan, Yemen, Zimbabwe, and Oman. Dr. Riphenburg has lived and traveled extensively in the Middle East, received many grants to undertake research in the area, and spent the fall of 2006 as a Fulbright Senior Scholar in Morocco, Algeria, and Tunisia. She most recently reviewed: Power and Policy in Syria: Intelligence Services, Foreign Relations, and Democracy in the Modern Middle East by Radwan Ziadeh.
