ABOUT
As Lecturer in Persian Language & Culture in the Department of Near Eastern Languages & Civilizations at the University of Pennsylvania, Mahyar Entezari coordinates and teaches elementary- and intermediate-level Persian (Farsi) language courses—inclusive of the cultures of the Persian-speaking world (i.e., Afghanistan, Iran, and Tajikistan). Additionally, he teaches Iranian cinema and Persian literature.
Presently, Entezari is also a doctoral candidate in Middle Eastern Languages and Cultures in the Department of Middle Eastern Studies at the University of Texas at Austin (UT). In addition to teaching Persian as a foreign language, his specializations include literature, film, and culture studies. His dissertation investigates Iranian representations of Afghans and Afghanistan since 1979.
Entezari's work has been recognized by institutions such as the U.S. Department of Education and the Fulbright Program.
