ABOUT
Nadim Bawalsa received his PhD in History and Middle Eastern & Islamic Studies from New York University in 2017. His dissertation project, which is being revised for publication as a monograph, explores the migration of Palestinians to Latin America around the turn of the twentieth century. Specifically, he explores how this community developed into a distinct diaspora through its unique struggle to secure a right of return to Palestine following the promulgation, by British mandate authorities, of restrictive citizenship laws in 1925.
