ABOUT
Abeer AlNajjar, is an Associate Professor of Mass Communication, American University of Sharjah. She is a member of an UNESCO International Advisory Group of Experts working on “World Trends in the State of Freedom of Expression and Media Development”. AlNajjar is a contributor to Freedom House Freedom on the Net 2013 & 2014 reports. Her research interests include but not limited to journalism, political and religious media in MENA. She published many journal articles and book chapters about Arab Journalism including, "Patriotism and Popularity in News: Tough Choices Facing Arab Journalists", Special issue on Global Media Ethics in the Middle East.
