ABOUT
I am a doctoral candidate in the department of History at York University. After receiving a specialized honours B.A and an M.A from York University, I began the PhD. program under the supervision of Professor Roberto Perin. My thesis is a study of Coptic Orthodox immigration to Toronto, Montreal, and New York. I seek to uncover the relationship between the post-Second World War ecumenical movement and the social integration of Middle Eastern Christian immigrants across distinct geographies. My major research fields are Canadian History, Immigration and Ethnicity, and Social History. I am a teaching assistant at Glendon College and founder of the Coptic Canadian History Project (CCHP). The CCHP is a digital archive and community outreach non-profit organization affiliated with the Clara Thomas Archives and Special Collections at York University.
