ABOUT
Nicole F. Watts (PhD, University of Washington) is a professor in the Department of Political Science at San Francisco State University. Her research interests include social movements and mobilization, state-society relations, and Kurdish politics in Iraq and Turkey. She is the author of "Activists in Office: Kurdish Politics and Protest in Turkey," published by the Univ. of Washington Press in 2010, and co-editor (with Elise Massicard) of "Negotiating Political Power in Turkey: Breaking Up the Party" (2012). She has also authored numerous book chapters and articles in refereed journals. Her current book project examines dissent and campaigns for political change under the Kurdistan Regional Government in Iraq.
