ABOUT
I am currently working at the French Institute for Anatolian Studies (Istanbul) as an executive assistant since 2005. I have earned my Ph.D. in History September 2010 at Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Paris under the direction of Professor Maurice Vaïsse. I am currently preparing my dissertation for publication at the CNRS Editions. It is entitled “The Origins of the American Preponderance in Turkey from 1939 to 1947”. My dissertation is mostly based on American archives (such as US National archives (NARA, Maryland) and Franklin Roosevelt Library, Hyde Park). My research interests are mainly focused in the field of modern Turkish diplomatic history. Prior to my Ph.D., I completed a MA degree in “History of the 20th century” in the same university in 2003 with a thesis focusing on Mustafa Kemal Atatürk’s Image in France (1919-1938). I graduated with a Political Science degree from Galatasaray University (Istanbul) in 2002, where I accomplished a dissertation entitled “France in the settlement of the Ottoman Question and the Franco-Turkish Agreement of 20 October 1921 (1919-1921) » under the direction of Professor Ahmet Kuyas. Then, I benefitted from several research fellowships : from ARIT (American Research Institute in Turkey) in 2005, from George Washington University in order to participate to the « Summer Institute on Conducting Archival Research » in 2006 and from the French Ministry of Education and Research in 2007 which permitted me to work on the US archives. I have published articles in journals such as Revue d’Histoire Diplomatique and presented papers on international symposiums.
