ABOUT
I am a graduate student at the University of Oxford in the United Kingdom, reading for a DPhil in Modern Middle Eastern Studies to be completed in 2014. I have an MPhil in Modern Middle Eastern Studies from the University of Oxford and a B.A. from the College of William and Mary in Virginia, USA, in Government and Linguistics. I currently live and work in Oxford. My current research projects focus on mass and social media in the Middle East. I work specifically on mobile technology, the Internet, and activism in the region. In addition to my research on media in MENA, I'm also involved in a project on party system competitiveness and democratization in Latin America and Africa. My methodologies are always interdisciplinary, and I work (and have worked) with anthropological interviewing, content analysis, statistical analysis, and database creation. I have a background in quantitative research techniques, but I currently employ primarily anthropological and ethnographic methods.
