ABOUT
Graduated from Princeton in 1980 as an engineer, but spent most of my time taking Ottoman history and other social science courses. After a career in the private sector of Turkey, joined the American University of Beirut (AUB) as a Phd student in 2015. Hope to graduate in June 2021. My main area of interest is the era of Sultan Abdulhamid, 1876-1908. I have done some work on Turkish-Arab relations and the investments in education in the Ottoman Empire.
