PhD Candidate in Conflict Analysis and Resolution at the School for Conflict Analysis and Resolution at George Mason University in Arlington, VA. Research focuses on insurgent group dynamics, civil war, Kurdistan, and the Middle East. Speaks Arabic and Spanish Has traveled to and/or worked in 60 countries in the past 13 years. Directs an international NGO that has established economic peacebuilding projects in Iraq, Afghanistan, Uganda, Burundi and is currently in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Founded the Praxis Conference, an international conference that pursues effectiveness in peacebuilding through networking communities of scholars, NGOs, social entrepreneurs, and religious communities.
