ABOUT
I graduated from the Department of International Relations at the Faculty of Political Science in Ankara University. I received my M.A. degree from the Department of History at University of Nebraska-Lincoln (1998) and MPhil and PhD degrees from the Department of History at Columbia University in the City of New York (2003 and 2008 respectively) through various scholarships and fellowships from Turkey and the United States. Following my return to Turkey, among a variety of academic job offers, I started working as an assistant professor and a founding chair in the Department of International Relations at Karabuk University. I also work as an advisor on American foreign policy and the Middle East at the International Middle East Peace Research (IMPR), an Ankara-based non-profit thin thank. As a transnational historian, I have been working on American Protestant missionaries in late Ottoman era and have many publications by prestigious printing houses as well as numerous presentations at national and global level on my fields of interest. Currently, I am turning my dissertation into a book entitled The American Protestant Missionary Network in Ottoman Turkey, 1876-1914: Political and Cultural Reflections of the Encounter for a major American academic press.
