ABOUT
Gustavo Barbosa is associate researcher at the Center for Middle Eastern Studies at Universidade Federal Fluminense in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He holds a PhD in anthropology from the London School of Economics and Political Science. His book, The Best of Hard Times - Palestinian Refugee Masculinities in Lebanon, was published in 2022 by Syracuse University Press. He has also published several articles in English and Portuguese on Palestinian refugees, masculinities, gender, and anthropological theory. His academic interests are political and medical anthropology, gender, refugees, masculinities, and new reproductive technologies. His homepage is gustavo-barbosa.com.
