Workshop Description
In this workshop scholars of the Middle East will discuss how their research can be incorporated into the K-12 classroom. The focus will be on topics of human geography, broadly conceived, such as urbanism and sustainability, hierarchy, power relations and the environment, human mobility amidst war, contested views of 'green capitalism', and the spatial aspects of anti-poverty programs. This workshop is organized by the Institute for Middle East Studies and supported by a Title VI National Resource Center Grant from the US Department of Education.
